ChinFlix Privacy Policy

ChinFlix is built and operated by Chinland InfoTech, which is responsible for this policy and is the contact for any question about it. It covers the ChinFlix website and mobile apps, and the service behind them.

Signing in is handled by Firebase Authentication, a Google service. We hold your email address, the display name and profile picture you choose, your role, your subscription tier, and the identifier Firebase issues for you. We never see or store your password.

• Your card details never reach our servers. Payments run through Stripe and PayPal. What we store is the customer identifier each of them issues, so we can tell that a subscription or ticket belongs to you.
• What we do keep is the record of the transaction: your subscription and its tier, pay-per-view tickets, invoices, receipts and any coupon you used. Financial records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require, which is longer than an account deletion.
• Fraud checks. Unusual payment and access patterns raise an internal alert, so a shared or resold account can be looked at by a person.

This is the part worth reading carefully, because it is the part people assume is smaller than it is.

• What you watch and how. Titles played, how far through you got, what you added to a watchlist or favourites, what you downloaded for offline viewing, and the interactions around a title.
• Session and behaviour records. We build a viewing profile from that history — sessions, the path you took through the app, and groupings that put viewers with similar habits together. We use it to recommend titles, to see where the product is failing people, and to decide what is worth licensing or commissioning next.
• Live events. If you register for an event we keep the registration, and any poll you answer during it.
• Notifications. If you allow push notifications we store the device subscription and your preferences, so we can send them and so you can turn them off.
• Technical records. Ordinary server and delivery logs, including the network address a request came from, kept to run and secure the service and to work out why a stream failed.

We do not sell any of this, share it with advertisers or data brokers, or use it for advertising. There is no advertising in ChinFlix.

Firebase Authentication (Google) signs you in. Stripe and PayPal take payments. Cloudflare delivers video from servers near you. We use cloud hosting, database, caching and storage providers to run the service. Each processes data to provide that service to us, under their own terms.

We disclose information only where the law requires it, or where it is necessary to protect the security of the service or the rights of others.

You can turn notifications off per device or per type, clear your watchlist, and change what your profile shows.

To delete your account, email admin@chinlandinfotech.com. We remove your profile and viewing history. Two things survive it, and you should know which: records we must keep for tax and accounting, and aggregated figures that no longer identify you. An active paid subscription should be cancelled first, since deletion does not itself stop a renewal.

Your rights may vary by location. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.

Traffic travels over encrypted HTTPS, video is delivered with encryption, and access to stored records is restricted to the people who operate the service. Sign-in is handled by Firebase rather than by passwords we hold. No system is perfectly secure, and an account is only as safe as the address and password behind it.

ChinFlix is not directed to children under 13, and an account should be created by an adult. Some titles are for adult audiences. If you believe a child has provided personal information that we hold, contact us and we will review and delete it where required.

ChinFlix is still in development. We will update this policy as features, providers and retention practices settle, and revise the effective date above.
